(5/30/08) The XBFL registration is now open to strict sim-gamers who have the availability to play a minimum of one game per week over a 16 week schedule (not including playoffs).  The Fall Season is tentatively schedule for a late August/early September 2008 kickoff date.

This coming football season will mark the first time the XBFL has run both a 2K Sports and EA football league simultaneously.  This decision was reached after receiving feedback from the 2008 XBFL Member Survey.  Details of the two leagues are as follows:

** The All-Pro Football (2K) league will be dubbed the "Dynasty League."  Members will draft either a past or present NFL team and be responsible for customizing their own roster of 11 star players who are/were on that team.  Existing players found in the game cannot be used.  This is so that each and every team has gold, silver, and bronze players with exactly the same number of attributes. Rosters will be subject to approval by the XBFL's Board prior to competition (to ensure realistic assignment of gold stars, and to verify player accuracy).  Once a team is drafted, they may not be drafted again by any other player, regardless of the team's year (e.g. If the Dallas Cowboys are drafted with declaration that the 1992 rosters will apply, no other Dallas team can be taken in the draft).  Veteran members of the XBFL will initiate the draft by selecting teams, followed by new members whose order of selecting will be randomly determined.

** The Madden league will function as it did for the XBFL's 2007 season with a few minor exceptions: The senior veterans of the league will retain their respective teams if they choose to do so. The balance of teams remaining will be acquired through a draft process where the order will be randomly determined.

If you are a dependable sim-gamer who has a passion for football, please be sure to thoroughly review the rules of this league. When completing the membership application, please be sure to indicate which league you wish to apply for: the APFB 2K league, or the Madden 2009 league.  A representative of the XBFL will contact you within 3-5 days, and an "exhibition" game may be scheduled for evaluation and to personally answer any questions you may have.
